Once the new point has been established players around the table will start throwing out there bets. Most people will buy most of the numbers available. When you buy a number on the board and it’s rolled you get paid out the winnings from the bet you made. Certain numbers have different payouts then other numbers so make sure that you read out the payouts before playing.
If the point that was rolled is an even number such as a 4, 6, 8 or 10 then you should put a bit of money on the hardways. The hardway is a bet that wins if the two dice are the same. For instance, if you bet on 10 hardway then you would need the dice to be rolled with two 5’s. If a 6/4 is rolled which equals 10 then you will lose the hardway bet.
Another bet you need to make once the point is established is behind the pass line. The bet behind the pass line pays out more then the pass line and this is where the money will be made. If you bet the pass line each round then make sure you bet behind it. On most craps tables the maximum bet you can put behind the pass line is 10X your pass line bet.
Once all of the bets are on the table the player will roll again and you’ll start making money or lose the money you just put out on the table. If any other number is rolled then you could potentially win money depending on what you bet on. As you can see you need to have a decent bankroll in order to play craps because one hand could swipe out $50+ on a low limit table and trust me it happens often.
You can make a lot of money playing craps when the table is hot, but you need to be willing to walk away from the table if the table is cold which happens. There is no point winning $200 when the table is hot and then giving away $400 when the table is cold because you’ll end up losing money and will wish you have left when you had the profit.
