Poker is not something that a person becomes good at overnight. It takes time. Becoming a solid poker player requires that a person spends a lot of time learning the rules of the game, being able to judge if someone is bluffing, and learning how to hide your own tells.

Stay Away from Money Games

If you have only just started to play, you should not head to the casino and start playing with money. The chances are pretty good that the only thing that will happen is that you will lose all of your money. A better approach is to get together with your friends and engage in a friendly game of PKR poker. Instead of playing for money try playing strip poker or for M&M’s or anything else non-monetary. Not only will you and your friends steadily start to develop a better understanding of the game, but you will also share lots of laughs in the process. There will be plenty of time to play for money once you game playing skills have improved.

Be Patient

The kiss of death for many would be poker players is a lack of patience. They tend to think that they will be able to learn the game rules and the various hands and will instantly be an awesome poker player. If it was that easy everyone would play. In order to become a good poker player you need to practice lots and really work on honing your skills.

Learn Everything

The poker players who are really good got that way because they took the time to learn every single aspect of their craft. They spent hours watching video, reading books about poker, and talking to professional poker players. In addition to reading and watching everything you can find that pertains to poker, you should also work on improving your knowledge about learning how to read body language

Practice and then Practice Some More

No one gets good unless they are willing to spend some time, a lot of time, practicing. This doesn’t mean that you have to go to the casino every night and play poker. One of the best ways to practice is by getting some computer programs and start playing games against the computer. This won’t help your ability to read when your opponents are bluffing, but it will help improve your knowledge of the game.

Stay Calm, Cool, and Collected

When you are in the middle of a poker game it is really important that you remain calm. The more anxious you get the more difficulty you will have focusing on the cards. Learn how to keep your mind calm and focused while you are playing.

Know When to Walk Away

Don’t get disappointed when you don’t win a game. Everyone has days when things just don’t go their way, when they can’t to draw a good hand. A good poker player recognizes the signs that things aren’t going well and knows to walk away. There will be other games when their luck might be a little better.

John Juanda was born in Indonesia and lived there for most of his life, but he is of Chinese ethnicity. John didn’t move to the United States until he was heading off to university where he enrolled at Oklahoma State University. Juanda ended up getting an MBA at the Seattle University.

Before John started playing poker he was a very well known track athlete in university where he competed in a lot of the running events. You might wonder why John looks so fit at the poker table compared to the stereotypical poker player and it’s because he trained hard throughout his younger years and still enjoys training to do this day, but on a much lighter scale. After university John spent some time selling bibles door to door and then stopped that to start playing poker.

John Juanda is one of the most well known poker players in the world and is more established then almost every other poker player. John has won four WSOP bracelets so far in his career and zero WPT titles although he has come very close in the past. Juanda has made the final table in WPT events a total of six times already, but hasn’t been able to capture that title yet. Over his career John has 16 money finishes on the WPT and 45 money finishes on the WSOP circuit.

During 2001 and 2002 John really tore up the poker circuit and made many of his money finishes in those two years. Through his excellent play in these two years of poker John was named the Card Player Magazine Player of the Year both years. John has won a WSOP bracelet four times as mentioned before with those coming in 2002, 2003, 2003 and 2008. As you can see John took a little pause from winning any WSOP bracelets after 2003, but he managed to make a nice comeback in 2008 winning the $10,000 NL Holdem Main Event which was a big accomplishment for John. Most of the friends that John plays house games with have four bracelets so he was really gunning to get one in 2008 and he did so in one of the biggest events of the year which was great to see.

John is also apart of the FullTilt.net Poker Team which is a big team of professional poker players who all play online at Full Tilt and where Full Tilt clothing at live events.

John has accumulated a little over $9 million in live tournament earnings in his career which has him right near the top of the leaderboard for all-time earnings. John has proved he has a very versatile game and many of the worlds best poker players will admit they fear Juanda. He is a very unpredictable player and you really never know what you’re going to get from him when he sits down at the table. He has excellent reading abilities and can tell when you’re weak nine times out of ten which is why he is one of the world’s best poker players.

For a lot of people online casino gambling is something new and you may be in this category and might not understand exactly what it’s about. Today we’re going to talk a little bit about online gambling so that you can put your head at rest knowing you’ll be safe and secure. Online gambling has become huge over the past ten years online and there are hundreds of online casinos and online poker rooms out there.

Before you can gamble online you need to find a casino or poker room depending on what you want to play. Finding a casino or poker room online isn’t as simple as signing up for the first one you find because it might not be suitable for your needs. You should spend some time reading online reviews of the different casinos and poker room so you can gauge how trusted each one of them are.

Once you have found the casino or the poker room that you want to play in you’re almost ready to begin gambling. You’ll need to sign-up for an account at this point with the casino or poker room you chose and you’ll also want to make sure you use the promotional code if you need one. Every online casino and poker room offer new players a welcome bonus, but some of them require you type in a promotional code to receive the bonus. Make sure you find out if you need a code and if you do need a code make sure you type it in when you’re signing up your account because often if you don’t you can’t go back and enter it and you’re out your welcome bonus.

After you sign-up and enter your FullTiltPoker Bonus Code you will need to find out which deposit method you would like to use to deposit to your account. There are plenty of different options including online payment processors and credit cards amongst other options. Find the best option that you can easily us and then you can make your first deposit into the casino or poker room. Some online casinos pay you a bonus if you deposit using one of there preferred methods so make sure you check this out and see if your casino offers this bonus. If they do offer this bonus then try to deposit using one of there preferred methods so you can get an added bonus.

One you have made your deposit using the method best suitable for you then you’ll be able to start playing the games in the casino or poker room. All you’ll need to do from here is withdraw funds and deposit funds to your account as needed with the method you used above to initially fund your account. It’s really simple, safe and secure to gamble online and with the tough economic times I know most people could use some extra money from winning. Of course there is no guaranteed that you will win, but many people believe it’s worth the shot. Most poker rooms and casinos allow low minimum deposits so you can get started for under $100 if you’d like to test it out small first before moving up to bigger deposits.

Dave Ulliott is possibly the most well known and popular poker player in Europe right now and it’s due to his great poker skills and fascinating personality. Dave was born in Hull and has lived in the area all of his life and continues to live nearby playing poker. Before Ulliott learned the game of poker he had quite the remarkable life going on which many people wouldn’t approve of so to speak.

Ulliott stopped attending schooling at the young age of fifteen and started to work at odd jobs in his community. Dave has experience building trophies among many other odd jobs which he did during his teenage years. When Dave turned nineteen he started betting with the bookies often and most of the time would lose any money that he had.

Dave has also been apart of a very recognized safe cracking team in Europe which cracked safes all across the country with the assistance from the store owners and police. Dave was eventually arrested for this and served time, when he got out he ended up committing an armed robbery and was jailed again. After being the released the second time Ulliott started working as a bouncer and gambling, but it wasn’t long before he ended up back in jail for getting into a fight outside a club.

After this Ulliott met someone in jail and planned to rob a bank with this person, but on the day of the robbery his partner was arrested and the plan never took place which is good news for Dave. After this day Ulliott decided to go straight and his second wife has helped him every step of the way.

Through all of his criminal past Dave learned how to play many different card games including variants of poker. Once he decided to go straight he focused on gambling due to it being legal and he ended up making a name for himself. Dave has won one WSOP bracelet and one WPT title which is more then most poker players can claim. Ulliott has also finished in the money 26 times on the WSOP circuit and 7 times on the WPT.

Over the years Dave has appeared on lots of poker TV shows including Full Tilt Poker’s Late Night Poker plus many others. He can usually be spotted by his flashy attitude at the table and his thick tinted glasses. Dave is a man to be feared at the poker table and he is a very fierce poker player. When he doesn’t agree with something you’ve done he’s also the first to let you know and doesn’t care if it upsets you in anyway, shape or form. His straight-up attitude has earned him a spot in many people’s list of favourite poker players and he’s also a great poker player to boot.

Ulliott continues to play poker to this day and as I mentioned before he still lives nearby where he grew up in Hull, at least when he isn’t travelling and playing poker.
